Walthers Proto HO 920-584408
Many old Proto engines (some listed below) had a problem with the drive gear having a hairline crack that is hardly noticeable but causes the engine to jump or bind up the drive.
These are easy to replace and will solve a split drive gear problem-
Replacement Driver assembly (Each item is 4 drive axles)
Fits Early PROTO 2000, BL, FA, E8, GP7/9/18/20/30/60 & PROTO 1000(TM) F3

These wheels are an exact fit for the common
cracked gears on some older Proto 2000 locos.
They drop right in and work very smoothly.
Might be a little pricey.

The drive gears are exactly what was explained. I needed the drive gears for an older engine that I could not find parts for. I was able to modify the engine chassis to except the drive gear and the engine rolls on smoothly.

Excellent replacement gears with new wheels and axles for Proto 2K HO locomotives with cracked gears.
